DESCRIPTION:The service of Morning Prayer originates in the Benedictine mon
 astic tradition as a part of what is called the "Daily Office\," and it is
  centered around the practices of reading Scripture\, reciting psalms or c
 anticles (psalm-like songs from other sacred sources)\, and of course\, pr
 ayer. There is also usually a sermon reflecting on the Scripture readings 
 of the day\, and hymns are sung. \nThis service is led by a licensed layp
 erson using the order of service found in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (
 BCP) and uses the Rite II version of Morning Prayer. Rite II follows nearl
 y the same structure as Rite I\, but uses more accessible\, contemporary l
